History[]
This location's roots go back to 1981, when it first opened as a Showbiz Pizza Place. Like most SPPs, this location had the all-too-familiar "Rock-A-Fire Explosion" shows and stage.
In 1990, as part of the nationwide "Concept Unification" process (which was set in motion to convert all Showbiz restaurants in America to Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants), the Canal Winchester Showbiz Pizza was shut down and was shortly reopened as a Chuck E. Cheese's.
This is one of the rare locations with the ball pit still standing, however, it has been blocked off and emptied due to COVID-19, but it is still standing but not operating.
