Chuck E. Cheese's is a family entertainment center located on 690 9th Street in Oak Brook, Illinois. This location has the 3-Stage Concept Unification stage.

History[]

This location's roots go back to March 13, 1983, when it first opened as a Showbiz Pizza Place. Like most SPPs, this location had the all-too-familiar "Rock-A-Fire Explosion" shows and stage.

In 1987, the Billy Bob and Looney Bird animatronics were replaced with Ronald McDonald and Grimace as part of a rather short-lived partnership with McDonald's which involved the Oak Brook Showbiz Pizza to get a McDonald's restaurant in it. In 1988, Showbiz Pizza Time ended their partnership with McDonald's and removed the Ronald McDonald and Grimace animatronics and the McDonald's restaurant at the Oak Brook Showbiz Pizza closed down as a result. Also, the Billy Bob and Looney Bird animatronics were reinstalled at this location.

In 1990, as part of the nationwide "Concept Unification" process (which was set in motion to convert all Showbiz restaurants in America to Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants), the Oak Brook Showbiz Pizza was shut down and was shortly reopened as a Chuck E. Cheese's.

Around 2001, Munch Jr. and Pizzacam stopped being programmed and were planned to be removed around 2003, but due to a change in store management, Munch Jr. and Pizzacam were kept.

In 2010, they bought a used Sky Fighters ride off of a ride broker site.
