Circus Playhouse & Food Emporium was a FEC that most recently reopened at Euclid Square Mall in Euclid, Ohio that was located on the 2nd floor of the former Dillard's building before getting demolished. There were 5 known official locations that opened (and closed) between 1982 and 1990. These locations were at-

History[]

The original Circus Playhouse & Food Emporium originated in 1982 as a small chain of FEC's. They had a ball pit, video games, and a full-sized 16 horse merry-go-round. The characters were named Lionel the Friendly Lion, Charlie Chimp, Lola the Leopard, Tex S. Tiger, Barney Bear, Ellie Elephant, Gerry Giraffe, and Batt E. Bird. These characters were placed on a 42-foot stage that was against a wall in the showrooms of their locations.

The first location to open was in Hollywood FL in 1982 and the final location (that we know of) was in Peabody with an undetermined opening day.

In all these 5 resturaunts the characters were made by a now defunct company called AVG. All locations had the same style and stage exept the Peabody location, where Barney bear had his face painted like a clown and the stage backdrop was diffrent from the rest.

At some point close to April 1985 AVG stoped making the circus playhouse band and the characters were now built by another now defunct company called Reedys robotics. Reedy made changes to Lionel, Barney, and Lola but none of these Reedy characters wherever used in a location as far as we know. Reedy supplied the locations with spare cosmetics and parts when something broke on the shows, leading to some odd characters who would have two different types of fur on thier body.

The last location closed in 1990 due to a reason I do not know.

But later on, that same year a revival named Circus World Pizza opened a few locations. The characters were named Lucky the Lion, Lucy the Lioness, Peter the Penguin, and Barney the Bear. One location remained open into the 2010's.

In 2016, a local businessman who owned a complete band from a Circus Playhouse & Food Emporium location opened a new Circus Playhouse at the Euclid Square Mall. There are two entrances, one on the first floor (which is Kmart) and one on the second floor of the mall. The mall has since been demolished, taking Circus Playhouse & Food Emporium with it.

In 2020 a youtuber by the username cavitysam bought a full band (minus jerry but I think they got one now) and they plan on restoring the band and putting them a private property where the fans can go and see the show. Not only does this person have a band but they also own the master reels that contain ALL the original audio produced by Bobby Gosh while AVG made the bots.
